My manager and I had the conversion convo today and he said he’d like to convert me immediately and took the action item to do so. No matter how many years I’ve freelanced, I still find it difficult to accurately (and fairly) predict how many hours a project will take in order to bid on it (and bake in revisions). Any tips or tricks out there?

1099 or w-2 ? I have been given the option though the company prefers w-2. It’s a day rate booking couple of months or more (no end date). I already have 1099 from similar company this year and am leaning towards 1099, but I don’t want to be difficult. I do take home office deduction and they are not supplying any equipment. Suggestions?

My accounting edge finance is not compatible with the new Mac OS. I do not need the $15/month subscription they offering as an upgrade since I’m a lone freelancer.
