In my case, my desk isn't really the issue. My laptop is. The desk is just furniture, and while I usually have some handwritten notes on it, there's nothing about it that's all that important. My challenge is keeping things on my computer organized, making sure I'm keeping track of different projects and different drafts and various pieces of correspondence and so on. It's true that juggling is perhaps the main skill.

I understand the desk is just furniture, but what is on the desk that is important to stay organized. Some people have multiple laptops and/or monitors, which would probably be the best, while others have calendars. Everyone has a method to their madness and no one is right or wrong.
Obviously multiple monitors makes your life a whole lot easier. I have two for each job so a total of four and honestly I could probably even use 1-2 more. Its nice to be able to have all the different screens pulled up with different things on each of them.

That is really good point! Multiple monitors keeps the work separate and easily accessible, as long as they don't have cameras!
