For those who’ve interviewed or worked in PE Operations, how much of a finance background is needed? Any accounting knowledge?

Starting a new job at Applied Materials on Monday as a Manufacturing Engineer III. I’ve been out of college for 5 years and all of my work experience till now has been in R&D for start ups and small businesses . So not only is this a new experience for me going into such a large company but also a industry (semiconductors). Does anybody has tips or advices on what I should expect as a new hire and how I can set myself up for success? Thanks!

It was great until the candidate wants to renegotiate the base and benefits after the current company counter-offered when the candidate no longer sees the future. I have a period of time (~2 years) where I worked multiple part time jobs. One job was with a FAANG so that’s easy to put on my resume. But the others included a couple non profits (mainly digital marketing), then multiple contracts with clients doing things like business development, APIs, websites, etc. How can I combine these “side gigs” under a single title/experience? Business Consultant? Say I ran a consulting agency? Business Dev Engineer? I’m lost. I don’t want to embellish or undermine.

Do recruiters and Hiring Managers actually review and read resumes? Also tech companies that sell SaaS, what is it with the requirements of having 10 years or more if technical sales experience? Also the ramp up period is not realistic. Average sales cycle for a reputable SaaS provider is 12-24 months. How on earth a start up can state that their ramp up period is 90 days? The company hasn’t had any new sales either. Start up CEO’s… be realistic or seek enough funding to operate.

Hello, I am in USI GES tax at DUSI. I love my job but not my team and mgmt anymore. I'm a performer and I'm dumped with work of 2 ppl while others are searching for work. I am burned out.

I resigned and accepted a job with EY GDS with a huge pay bump that DUSI can't match but I also gave up my potential promotion for 2023.

I've been feeling bad about putting my papers down and letting go off my promotion but I am really tired. I took up this job as an escape.

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks.
