For those who’ve switched jobs recently, how big of a jump did you negotiate? I’m sitting on a $95K offer after making $82K for the last 3 years. I feel like I could push for $100K, but I don’t want to price myself out.

Just ask - say you love your current role a lot and an extra $5k would make it much easier for you to walk away from it

78k to 100k

75k IA to 100k Investment Accounting. Took the offer as is since it was my only offer after 3 months of looking and I didn’t have leverage. Things to think about: do you have leverage and the potential of the offer getting rescinded, even if it’s a small chance?

I negotiated an extra $5k recently and felt great about it. But I had been at my last job for 7 years and got very few increases in that time.

New to Toronto, moved to the west end of town/ just past - in Etobicoke. I celebrate my 40th a few days after NYE/NYD - would love some recommendations on moderately priced but nice ambiance restaurants for myself + husband, and my extended family. Everyone is scattered throughout (Hamilton, Barrie, Lyle, Newmarket, North York). Don’t want anything too fancy but don’t really know where or what is good and not downtown.

Any recommendations? (Open to GTA of course).

Do you all see a compelling future in your tax career? I’ll go first, I don’t see a compelling future working for a large PA firm in the long run because you have to work more as you move up. However, I do see a compelling future by using my knowledge and skills to open my own firm/business and work less hours as long as I make enough money which is $75k, or if I do work long hours, it’s because I want to.

Hello,
I'm currently a community health navigator, and started with resources to find housing program resources beyond section 8.

What would be the best way to further my career about public health and housing systems?

Would it be better to get certifications/specializations through Coursera/edx/udemy? Or try for assistant jobs? Or just go back to a college and do 6 credits a semester until I'm able to graduate?

Doing those mid year peer/self review kills all time that would be better spent pretending to help my clients

3 YOE in Marketing through internships in college, followed by 2 years Financial Operations/Data Tools full-time. I got an offer for $75K at TekSystems for a Market Analyst role. I gave them a range of $70-75K, so they gave the max. But I am questioning asking for a bit more given insurance is apparently on the higher-end and I want to ensure I didn't low-ball myself.

Just to note, this is about a 25% increase compared to what I am currently making.

Any info on Big 4 Salaries for Senior Recruiters?

Hi all,

After the final interview, HR reached out and said they would like to extend an offer. HR gave a ball park of 135k - 145k base with about 15k in sign-on equity and 20k annual bonus.

After a couple of days, HR person came back with with 125k base and 20k annual bonus. No sign-on equity anymore. What should I do given that these numbers seem way lower than the initial range provided? HR claimed it’s because of “market conditions”.
