'Garbage in, garbage out.' The oldest rule for data analyst and any form of analysis that involves data of any form,
If your data isn't good to start with, your analysis won't be either.

Exactly! No matter how fancy your charts or how slick your Python code is, if the data’s a mess, your results will be too. It’s like trying to bake a cake with spoiled eggs, looks good till you taste it😅

Essentially, quality of inputs determines the output

Some places make money on selling the "math" of analysis, not actual outcomes or quality.

It's a challenge to balance quality work versus selling solutions that are great but supported by crap.

Yeah, buzzwords sell in our industry, unfortunately!

Over the past year, my counsel is constantly judged by a select few senior business folks (eg arguing over FTC compliance, IP risk counsel, and even simple things regarding NDAs that any attorney wouldn’t question. It’s very frustrating that my own team is the one I have to defend my logic to (and not opposing counsel). It feels like they want a rubber stamper, which is not me.I never faced this at my prior in-house roles (probably because they were much a larger). Any advice on how to handle?

However, i have been contacted about a role at IQVIA for a new pure strategy internal group that they are standing up. It would be a 55% salary boost with director title and completely remote. Should I consider it? The salary increase and location flexibility are alluring.

How do you know your value? Throughout my 10 yrs of being in a professional setting, I've had colleagues from various places of employment say, I don't think you know your worth. You're under valued, etc. What exercises/tools have helped you realize your worth and effectively advocate for it? TIA!

I’ve got about 20 years cross channel experience in marketing, split between big brands and startups, and I’m considering pivoting into a data science/data analyst role. I know it will initially be a step back in comp but is it at all realistic for a person with certificate level experience in data analysis but a decent marketing management background to expect $150-200k comp or is that mostly for degreed candidates (or not realistic at all)? Any guidance here is greatly appreciated.

Hi all,
I graduated during Covid with a double major in business administration and business management with a minor in marketing and magically ended up in sales because I needed a job. Also, if anyone is willing to look over my resume and give me tips on how to make it more presentable for recruiters in DA that would be very helpful. Thanks
