Generational question: how do you manage your schedule? Do you use your phone or a day calendar?

Daily calendar

like

I'm Gen X, so a calendar is how I learned to manage my day.
Paper -> Outlook -> Google/phone app.

Yes, I find it very helpful to track work and personal life. If it's not on my calendar, it's not happening.

Meetings
Meeting prep
Post meeting follow-up activities
Personal training (to keep me current on trends)
Birthdays
Yoga class. <- if it's not on my calendar, it's not happening.
Dr appointments...

Everything!

It's fun to look back sometimes.... just to see what you were up to..

My bf & I will be moving in together for the 1st time after dating for 5 years. He hasn’t been any help through the whole searching, budgeting process & tbh I feel alone. I’m exhausted, stressed & feel like I’m drowning. I’ve voiced my concerns over being the only one involved but his excuse is that he’s stressed. When I call him about a new listing etc he seems annoyed & disinterested. I will also be paying for more since I make more but due to his salary most apts in said budget (cont)

I am wondering if I can do this. It feels daunting but also I’ve accepted an offer from another company but don’t know if it is what I want but I think I also don’t feel comfortable in my current situation. I wonder how long I could maybe do this but not sure.

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

like

Anyone in consulting and doing OE? Using bench time for J2+ seems like a good opportunity in this environment, considering it wouldn’t look out of place to remain on the bench for quite a while
