Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

Just fine thanks!
Do you need to physically touch your colleagues? Otherwise, Teams works just fine.
You mean like kissing them? Otherwise teams also works.

Well, I sit down at my laptop, put on some headphones, and umm… just write.
I do brainstorm with a partner when needed, but zoom works fine for that.
It’s not that hard, especially with the general quality of ideas that clients and agencies are looking for these days.
Humble brag
I have ideas walking around my neighborhood, ordering a coffee, looking at people’s behavior. That’s what I do.
Umm. I always start by doing research, understanding the brief and then coming up with ideas. Then I bring those ideas to a brainstorm and add to them, come up with new ones, add to my partners. This sounds harsh but it’s true, if you can’t think of an idea alone, you’re not conceptual. Yes, creativity is collaborative but it’s on a scale. On one side, you have brilliant writers that write books, screenplays, standup, etc. alone. You have brilliant visual artists, painters, street artists, etc. that work alone. Then you have something like an SNL writers room. Very collaborative but still, most writers are bringing ideas they thought of alone first to a collaborative brainstorm with other writers. Then they pitch that to an even bigger collection of collaborators. Take a band, the singer has written lyrics alone, she sings them to the band. The guitarist has a riff they thought up and have been playing with, alone. They add that riff to the lyrics. It fits perfect. Then the bassist. Then the drummer. They all bring something to the table that they have been working on. That they’ve been thinking about. Alone. Then collaboration happens. The song goes in new directions. It gets better. It evolves. Here’s something that helps me when I’m stuck. Your brain never stops. You’re always thinking. You don’t run out of thoughts. You have an infinite ability to generate ideas. Use it.
Yes…. an idea comes from a person no doubt but in the elaboration working with another thought makes perfection…. Take da Beatles they all had there individual IDEA but once they bounced there thought to the team it made brilliant songs…. I personally love working with opposite thought process and then tie it down…… R
Wait, you don’t talk to your dog? I get the best ideas talking to my dog.

A pet rock! Just like a coworker.
I’ve never been more productive than these 5 years WFH.
Ok bootlicker
Was gonna call them a narc, but this is good too
I just chant, “I am a machine,“ for five minutes and the idea is flow.
It’s so much easier because you’re in more control of your environment.
Right. In the office I sat right next to two account people basically yelling on their calls all day in my little grey cubicle trying to design and read briefs etc. I basically had to put headphones in and never talk to anyone anyways. Being in control of your environment or at least able to move around makes a world of difference.
As a copywriter, I feel like I work best alone, in a quiet space (home). When working on campaigns or creative concepting, my art partner and I will schedule working sessions and regroups where we can brainstorm and refine ideas. Works just fine for us!
Well, I’m a writer. It’s my job to make up things in my head by myself.
Think of a book or script, heavy imagination. Heavy rewriting until it’s good.

Have you never met a novelist, poet, screenwriter, or songwriter?
A lot of showers.
100%! I take calls from shower, too
I've never understood why someone would want a group of people to slow them down. I'm physically unable to shut down my creativity. I create 24/7/365, even in my sleep. I can't count how many times I've woken up with fully formed new ideas in my head: movies, stories, games, solutions to social problems, and basic truths.
I work 10x better at home as a copywriter than I ever did in office.
I agree one hundred freaking percent. And before some smart ass comes in here and says that’s because of ChatGPT, they’re wrong.

I’m with you CW.
I recommend a pen or pencil and notebook.
I’m good!
