Getting married in September, have a vax only policy for guests. My fiancé’s sister is bringing her unvaccinated spouse to the hotel where all the wedding festivities are being held b/c she is too scared to fly on an airplane without him. I find this incredibly uncomfortable and selfish given it will put me and my fiancé in an uncomfortable position (and it will also put my elderly parents and other vulnerable fam members at risk). Answer this: What does that say about what has become subconsciously engrained within most of us?

What if we taught students (and ourselves) to humbly subordinate to an objective truth about the world?

What if we spent more time studying and conforming to that truth than reflecting on our feelings about it?

I believe we'd see a lot less anxiety and depression. Questions like "Who am I," "Why am I here," and "Where am I going" wouldn't be so crippling and terrifying. We could look beyond ourselves and marvel at the beauty of a universe greater than ourselves.

I’m struggling with an issue with a student right now. I teach in a suburban school outside of NYC that has a very large majority of white students. One of my Black students was recently involved in a biased incident with another student in which he received racist social media messages and racist spoken words from the other student. This was a kid that my Black student thought was his friend. He’s heartbroken, and so am I. I want to know how I can best support my student.

To the Antiracist Educators, when we have trolls who do not understand what being an Antiracist means, would you like me to allow them to post even though they are clearly posting here with no positive intent?

I could block them. They can easily go post somewhere else.
