Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

Hi Fishes,
I recently got an offer for Cyber security advisory at PwC India . They gave a 20% hike on the current amount. Thing is that l, the technical interview told me that it is not a software/coding type of position and asked me multiple times if I was interested to do that. Is that a red flag?

Not at all. You’ll have to move on at some point. And it’s not like you’ll never work with those people ever again. You’re in your comfort zone. I think deep down you know you’re ready for a new challenge. Go get ‘em. You’ll be fine :)
Don’t be sad about it. Be glad it happened in the first place. It’s rare to have a team like that. But now you know what it takes to help build one up yourself. ✌️❤️
And absolutely loving the people I work with. But this is the opportunity I’ve been waiting for and it doesn’t come around too often. Am I making the wrong choice?
You’re not. Do it.
Nope! Go and do a great job! Emotional attachment to anything in this business is futile. You have to chase the opportunity where it is and be able to strike when the timing is right. You got this!
I’m in the last stages of an interview process for an in house creative department at a Fortune 100 company. I’ve worked in agencies my whole professional life. And while there are obviously terrible things about the industry (ageism, lack of job stability, lack of diversity, insane hours and total disregard for people’s life/work balance, and other reasons that are making me leave); there’s also things I love that I will miss a lot.
It’s weird but sometimes you become used and even a little addicted to the toxic environment. It’s like being in an abusive relationship with a really hot chick or dude who treats you like shit, but with whom you also had some great times.
I’m not saying this is your experience, it’s mine. But whatever the reasons you had to go in-house, I’m sure they are SUPER valid. Don’t second guess yourself. You can always go back if you choose, and think of all the new friends you’ll probably make at the new place. Nothing lasts forever.
I know what you mean. In a sense that is how I am too. But also the fact that I love having a system and knowing what I’m doing... it that makes sense? Knowing how clients operate and the team. I guess it’s just the fear of the unknown and change that I’m not sure what to expect as this won’t be another agency job... but thank you for your camaraderie:)
Congrats!!!!! You can always go back to the original if the new place doesn’t turn out to be so dreamy!
Sooner or later we all have to leave to take on new challenges. Which is another way of saying, we all have places (and people) we used to work with. Wouldn’t you rather they be awesome ones? This is the best case scenario!
Moving on is hard mostly due to the people you are leaving behind. I highly doubt you will miss the work. Stay in touch with those you care about and go get that dream job!
I sure will! Thank you.
It’s an unknown, you’re guessing yourself, and it is normal. Good luck and I wish you all the best
Thank you everyone! Feel a bit better about it now and taking a chance at jumping into something new. 🙂
I love that cat
Move while you are in demand. And who knows, maybe some of your coworkers will join you later.
