Working in a side role on a new product, and have seen it go from 0 to almost 1. I’m not officially a PM based on tenure, but have helped in different capacities/unofficial ways to build my skillset. If I have the opportunity to get a direct PM role on another team, should I take it? Or is it worth seeing the product fully ship before switching roles?

You hired an intern in law school, trained him mentored him. Work product was great. Gave him a full time offer and he was working full time for 3 months. Set to go back in the office. He gives notice because he doesn't want to be in the city we're in and wants to move for family reasons to a completely remote firm. How pissed are you at this?

Are you happy being a lawyer? Simple yes or no. No qualified answers like “most of the time.” If it’s a most of the time then yes because no one person likes their job all the time, even people who are living their dream. Now if you want to say no but it might be the area or I’m tired of it that’s good. Explaining why yes or no is okay.

A word to recruiters out there: I got an email today letting me know a company passed on me, and even though it was clearly an automated email, the gratitude I felt for that simple act of decency overwhelmed me. That's how far your profession has sunk. Every candidate you ghost, especially after talking to them excitedly about a position, is a candidate who walks away from the experience thinking you and the company you represent are absolute trash. Please do better.
