My mother is struggling financially. I’m 22 and make around 70k. My mother makes around 60k. I live in a different state. My job is remote so I may move back home at the end of my lease to help her with bills, but I don’t really want to because I enjoy my life I’ve built here. I would feel guilty if I didn’t move home though. I’m a bit torn on what to do.

My firm recently announced that they were beginning a reservation system for hoteling starting February of 2022 for offices . We were told to clear out our offices by December 31,2022 . The lease is not up for renewal until June 2024 at which point they will look to reduce their office space due to a hybrid work model . My issue is what incentive do I have to make a reservation to go to an office when I can simply continue work from home hassle free. Any Thoughts and comments?

I am in a small 10 person firm, 3 partners, big midwest city. All of us are wfh and will continue likely through at least 1/2 of 2021. Partner 2 said in june that P2 was loving wfh, which I am fine with. Yesterday P2 said P2 wants to move in 2 years to the southeast. I don’t feel ok with this - am I wrong? Is it realistic P2 continues P2’s admin responsibilities long distance when we are back in the office? Not sure if I am just reacting to change badly.

My sister works at a company that is so backward and toxic it scares me. They didn’t have Skype before the pandemic and now use Zoom. She’s trying to get a laptop to WFH with b/c the one that they issued her is from 2005 and is a nightmare to work with, but her boss wants to save money and get her a desktop instead of a laptop b/c they won’t be working from home after COVID. However, he has no problem ordering the newest equipment and WFH himself even before COVID. All I gotta say is toxic.

Workstyle Question: If you WFH and try to have some shadow of WLB, do you aim for 7/8-hour days in one go or do you work a bit, take an hour or so off, and then resume in the evenings? E.g. 9-5 or 9-12, 1-3, 8-10? Excluding 5-minute laundry trips and such.
