Guys what is the big step up from Associate to VP? Currently at a boutique but interviewing for a relatively big and well known bank so I am a bit clueless on how a VP would operate in a much bigger environment than mine.

What scope? Advisor? Analyst?

Advisory team

You’re generally at an advantage (in my opinion) coming from a boutique, considering you’ve likely been tasked with much more work encompassing your past deals with smaller deal teams compared to larger banks.

But why would you want to pivot to a big bank right now anyways?

But if I’d have to speculate, knowing how to delegate/manage your associates/analysts.

What is a good interview answer for leaving a job after a few months when the real reason is that you’re sleeping with one eye open in hopes of not being on the chopping block after two rounds of massive layoffs? Company culture is at an all-time low, and it will only go down from here from what I’ve seen in the short months I’ve been there.

Thoughts on becoming a "Growth & New Initiatives PM"?

I was a regular PM managing my own vertical and now have the opportunity for a new role in the org. No promo or cash related, just jurisdiction wise.

I'd be focusing on:
For old product-
-Free Trial
-automation
For new product-
-Building out from scratch
-UI/UX related user feedback
-sales and marketing focus
-use cases and features

Is this a good move career wise? Love being a PM and looking to grow.
Prefer new product > old

I really feel like I’ve been dealt a really bad hand in my life. It feels like no one gives me a chance. Whether it’s a job I know I’m qualified for, or someone I’m interested in. Even things that appear to be good at first end up sucking. I know I should be grateful for what I have and that so many others are less fortunate. But I still can’t help but think that for a person in my position, given the opportunities that I was given, I am just a complete failure and nowhere near what I could be.

The only problem is that our CEO has stated that we will never be a company that gives yearly raises, merit based or cost of living.
