Bain & Company I’m a PhD student looking to start in consulting and am looking to connect with other PhD/ADP consultants that went into consulting to learn more about the experience and how to prep for case interviews coming from a non-business background. Especially looking for advice on McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and Bain & Company
Got an offer for a sales applications manager role at Cisco and a Strategic AE role at Amazon - both are basically the same pay (130~ base, 220 OTE)
I don’t have any friends at either company so I was curious if anyone has experience and can shed some light on culture/ work life balance to help me make a decision? Thanks for the help guys!

Once has to complete min 24 months in a role ... So 2-3 years

You are eligible after serving 2 years as Senior Analyst. Rest depends on how much you manager fights for your promotion as he needs to put your case in front of leadership team. So ideal scenario 2-3 years. But I have seen people stuck as an SA for more than 3 years too.

Yes. It was 1.5 years earlier. But now I have heard that eligibility is moved to 2 years..and then depends on when you actually get promoted. Promotion cycle for A to SA and SA to M is either April or September. So in case you complete eligibility tenure in Oct.. you would not be promoted until next cycle arrives and that’s Apr next year.
Yes. Generally two years. But I have recently seen a manager getting promoted to senior manager within 1.5 years. I guess expectations exists everywhere!
Hmm. I will have to check with my manager again! ;) Thanks!!
