1. You have 60 days after your resign to leave
2. You can change status to another visa category e.g. Tourist, Student or whatever else you're eligible for.
3. Leave US, and come back when you're ready for the next big thing
4. Get a GC so you don't have to worry about being unemployed and accusing illegal presence
Hang out in the Caribbean. Mexico is not that permissive to random long stay tourists anymore.
Take a sabbatical, get a tourist visa to some other country and spend some time there or even in your home country if you want to
Pro
^That. KPMG sabbatical is great since you get paid 20% of your salary and can use upto 6 months.

If you still want to stay in the US, you may try to change your job. New company, new job, new colleagues, a fresh start.
On H1B, you can’t have 6 month break unless you leave the country or change status to F1 or B1.

Change of status or leave the US for 6 months. When you are ready to come back you can have another sponsoring entity revive your H. You can only have 60 days of unemployment with an H-1B visa.
Pro
You can do leave of absence and spend some time out of US and come back to work. I saw my colleagues doing that for several months.
