Anyone join this bowl yet? Sound off!
Hi Folks, I submitted documents 2 weeks ago for BGV in Tech Mahindra. I have not got any response so far from HR. However, last week they scheduled another interview and dropped me email just before 15 mins, yet i joined the interview but no one joined from their end. Now, HR is not responding. What should I understand from this case? Am I rejected? Tech Mahindra Tata Consultancy
Hi, I recently came across Scaler's MS program, which offers masters degree in collaboration with Woolf University (European University). And, I am looking move to Canada in near future. Will the master degree offered through this course will be accepted by the education evaluation institute WES? If yes, is it considered as equivalent to Canadian Masters degree? Yes this a thing. Slalom doesn’t hire into the bench very much. There are reasons for this (like making sure you hit your bonus, ensuring you don’t end up on the bench for lengthy periods, and just generally this policy making it easy to manage financial performance).
When COVID hit and Deloitte and others did pretty harsh layoffs Slalom did none of that. But to have a very strong anti-layoff stance you get these ‘offer eligible’ situations.
I have no regrets waiting for one to lift to join the club.
I’m in a west coast office and I can confirm we have the same practice. Offer eligible means we want to hire you, just need line of sight to work to bring you onboard for.
This was years ago, but they came back with my offer months after my last interview because the market took a turn and they had bench, I wouldn’t worry about them dropping you.
Whether you’re still interested when they do come back around, well that’s another story.
DM me - we are hiring aggressively
I can’t DM you, but I’d like to pick your brain!
Slalom is just trying to have their cake and eat it too.
How long you have to wait depends on how badly you want a new job vs your dignity
They want you, without risk of staffing you.
Just curious, why would you let a candidate (and interviewers for that matter) follow through the entire interview process, if you don’t have sight on the billable work for them? Leaders don’t forecast the propensity of close-win at Slalom and make hiring decisions accordingly? How do they keep a balance between loosing a great candidate vs hiring them based on positive pipeline?
Because work can develop around the same pace or faster than the hiring process, and both are variable in the their timing and flow.
Wish I would have went to deliotte 😩
Quick update: they said the position is closed down because they are planning for a economic downturn. They did not give me any updates as to whether they won the contract that they were bidding for or not. I thought I would get an offer since florida is such a new market with Salesforce. I don’t even know how Slalom is even being affected by this downturn??? Should I reach out to another recruiter?
I asked if I would be offer eligible if another Salesforce position opened up and they said yes. Not sure if this is even worth waiting for anymore???
I definitely would not wait. Slalom is great about not doing layoffs during a downturn, but you are experiencing the flip side of that, in which they won’t bring you on without a degree of clarity that you’re billable for the foreseeable future.
hey there - i finished my final round in feb of this year, was offer eligible 45 mins after the interview and had an offer in hand after the offer eligible period in three weeks. i started in april! what office are you located in?
Any tips on how to best negotiate the timeline?
Lesson learned. Always ask if the position for which you are interviewing is for immediate hire or dependent upon a contract. The good news is that when they come back to you you will know that the project is about to start and may be able to negotiate a higher salary. Be aware that if their offer acceptance rate is below 50% then they may have 1-2 other people “approved to hire” for the same one position.
Whenevet interviewing with a consultancy, consider asking early on if the role you are applying for has headcount signed off. At least this way you'll know if they plan to put you right on a project, need you to help win a project or may not have something immediate in the pipeline for you to be billable on.
Contingent hire is a ridiculous practice in such a hot job market in one hottest skill areas. I was under the impression that this was no longer done. It does give you some potential insight about the health of the local market related to Salesforce work. Maybe it's worth looking at competitors. If they ever decide to bring you onboard, at the very least, you would have leverage for a better offer.

@OP Once you are offer eligible, will expect that they will keep their promise. But, why wait especially in this job market when you can easily use that offer and get a much higher pay at other Firm!
I am in the same situation. They are giving me a contingent offer. I interviewed with Slalom for the Salesforce Practice area.
