Had a manager once who came out of a layoff meeting looking visibly drained and later found out she had argued hard to keep three people on her team. She did not make it out of that process politically clean but her people kept their jobs. Not every manager makes that call. Some go quiet when it costs them something. Just got me thinking. Has anyone here had a manager who actually put themselves on the line for their team during cuts? What did that look like?​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

How do you engage your students in more reading outside of what is required in the classroom? With each passing year I am finding an ever shrinking population of students, including honors students, who actually read beyond what is posted in social media or video games. Students willingly volunteer that they do not read and most parents see it as a non-issue. I tell my students that the best readers are usually the best writers. What are some strategies that you use beyond reading logs ?

Need advice. Very Shy guy and girl, met a while back for a side hustle both like each other a LOT, relationship has progressed in other areas but not in the physical realm, primarily because neither officially asked the other out.
