Has anyone been asked to put a case study presentation together for a contract gig? It’s a multi month contract covering maternity leave for their copy lead, so in some ways I get it, but I’ve never had it asked before.

Yes. I usually respond with my hourly rate and estimate for how many hours it will take. That or I just outright say no. I don’t work for free.

My superiors are asking me to contact CEOs of debtors to chase payments. We’re in B2B and payments are usually 30 days or more. As soon as we get someone over that and they don’t provide a payment date, I’m being asked to contact their CEOs somehow and demand payment. I think it’s dumb, will hurt the relationship and I also don’t want to ruin my reputation. Thoughts?

Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?

Quick PSA: one of the perks of going in-house, is that you’re no longer at an ad agency and all that that entails.

Just started a new in-house tech fl gig and it’s giving me whiplash! Somehow this dept has brought every person/toxic behavior from their old agency just to a new environment. Nowhere is perfect but good god. I honestly think companies/HR could learn a lot about their depts from freelancers.
