A HR question I really want to understand. ISRS HR quoted a podcast "The not so great resignation" saying 70% regret leaving and many want to go back to old employer. If this really the case the employee likely left due to higher pay at the new company. If they want to boomerang back they will likely come back at even a higher rate than they left the new company for. So getting double raise when they boomeranged. Isn't it unbeneficial, why not just give employee a 7% raise in the first place?

Does where you get your masters degree matter? I’m in an online environmental science masters program at an expensive “name-brand” school, but have colleagues telling me I should transfer to a less expensive program to save $ because no one cares about where your degree is from. Aside from the cost of it, I like my program, and the fact that I’m now connected to an incredible alumni network. And not gonna lie, I like the clout. Thoughts?

I am in my second year as a attorney, I was a FL paralegal before law school and would eventually like to end up there again. I am in a very small rural area, pretty much only solos, and no FL solos appear to be hiring/expanding at this time.

Do you think experience as a DA or PD would be valuable, with my eye toward a future in FL? Both for the skills gained, and/or as a resume piece?

Can a person just say that he cannot disclose his current salary while negotiating an offer and just mention his expected salary (which may be 2x current one) , because if the current salary is low ,the expected salary can't be too higher than current one ? Never seen such a case so just asking

3 Things to keep in mind which changing jobs:
1. Always ask dedicated budget for the job before you tell your expectations.

2. Always have atleast 2 weeks of gap before you join any company. You might not understand significance of that but just have a gap.

3. Always talk to people of team you will be joining before you accept offer or atleast before you join company.

One of my top talents just put in his two weeks notice and I had nothing to offer him to stay. I told upper management this was going to happen! Anyone feel like your job sees you as "one of the good ones?" It hasn't explicitly been said, but I'm one of the only Black attorneys at the firm and I think my white colleagues and partners see me as an example of how Black folks "should be" cause I mind my business. I don’t cut my hours, I consistently reach 7 hours a day, but it’s not enough to meet my firm’s minimum requirement. I’m usually working 9 hours/day.
