Yesterday I received 3 calls, one from my old boss he was putting in a job req to have me rehired, the second was that a job I have been interviewing for was going to present me an offer today and the third was a job offer (but that role was not a fit for me) i am super concerned with burning bridges - help

I asked for a raise in April 2022 after three years with my company. Positive feedback since day one. Learned I was making less than peers at other asset managers in NYC with less experience (14 years). Latest conversation was with HR about how they calculate salaries. I’ve been asked to provide examples how my role has changed since I started to justify the increase. Is this normal? Or is this just their way of denying my request?

What do you do when when someone at the top of your firm says something bigoted and you don’t call them out immediately?

So my junior lies a lot. About everything. They work hard and are reasonably smart, but they would swear a black pen is red and vice versa. When you catch them out, they keep digging. I like to think I’m very approachable and would never have an issue with someone not knowing something, needing longer on a deadline, asking questions etc. I’m writing this junior’s review and I’m wondering whether (and, if so, how) to bring this up?

I'm an investment banker and in late stages of a couple CorpDev roles of Fortune 200 companies. Both roles report to Head of CorpDev. I would be interested to understand the typical career progression. Assuming Head of CorpDev will stay in position for the next 5-10 years, what is the expectation of upward mobility then? Is it more common to progress through jumping around to different companies?

Get thanked for my complimentary followup sent post-final interview. 48hrs later, same recruiter (on speakerphone) tells me job is now hold and "you must be upset" and good luck in your search.

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. When did you know your firm wasn't right for you? I'm not sure if it's just the stress of being a new attorney with a family or if my job isn't the right fit. I work in civil litigation and am consistently below my billables.
