I think you're fine. Just call them asap and tell them you had a change of heart. Then tell me what agency/city so I can apply for the job. 😏😌
IS IT a family emergency? Better to be honest (better offer came in), people appreciate that and if it's down to a better job they'll get it. Maybe even improve the offer they give to the next guy.
I've heard on the Bowl and from people IRL that "signing papers doesn't mean anything." At first I was surprised. But now I don't think it's a big deal if you just tell them you're not ready to move and you've had a change of heart, and sound apologetic. Life happens and that's okay.
Be honest. You're dealing with people
Honesty is the best policy
Stupid question: why did you go through the whole interview process and then accept the offer if you didn't want to move?
It is not. It would be because I actually wasn't ready to move cities and wanted to stay at my job after all.
But a company never puts an offer in writing until it's agreed upon verbally first. That's the final offer; the paper one is the formality. You also didn't have to sign it to see what the offer was. I'm still just very confused. Again, not judging, just not understanding.
Yah honesty for sure
Blame your girlfriend/boyfriend. Say you were down to move but they're not. Might still burn the bridge, but most people can understand that reasoning.
There's no way around it. Just burn the bridge move on.
As long as you convey you sincerely considered all factors and realized you don't want to go, and let them know that, you should be fine.
Not judging, but why didn't you think more about it during verbal negotiations or any other time before signing the letter? Honestly just curious.
I was invited in and thought I would see what it was all about. Now that I've thought more about it, I don't want to go. That's not that weird is it?
But did you sign the offer letter yet?
I did last night. Now maybe regretting.
I really wanted to see what the final offer would be. I always have been given the advice 'get the offer, then figure it out.' Turns out that makes an offer WAY harder to turn down.
