I've never work Christmas, all about being at the right place 😜

Indeed!
It takes a whole lot of planning in advance ,from my experience. If this year is a hard no, you should ask about trading another high-value shift, planning well in advance for next year, or even looking for a role in a part of retail (or another industry) with more predictable holidays.
I have worked every Christmas for the past five years. I don't have kids or a husband so I let people who hae a family take it off. To me it has just become another day.

I would say plan early and try to see if someone would switch with you for Christmas. I’ve switched Thanksgiving for Christmas or new years before.

Idk if there’s a hack, but you could trade shifts with someone. More likely than not, to get Christmas off, you’d have to be willing to work on another major holiday
The hack is win the lottery and quit your job 😂 I'm lucky that we don't work Christmas day, but I always work Christmas eve. I LOVE Christmas eve and would much rather be with family.

I feel you—retail on Christmas is rough! Sometimes swapping shifts or asking well in advance helps, but it’s always a bit of a challenge.
