Microsoft is hiring an account executive and I’m really interested in the role. I have B2B sales experience in a different industry, but my skills include lead generation, prospecting, account management, negotiating, etc (all within the C Suite and other decision makers).
Would appreciate knowing if this is something I have a shot at with no tech sales experience and what I could expect for promotional opportunities and compensation.
Thanks for the help!

No no yes yes/no. It depends
From what I hear, yes to all. But depending on what u do, u might end up traveling, they have a national market too. Pay is great bc they're too new to hire junior employees. Also I heard oritentation was a shit show for my friend, seems understaffed internally to handle their growth.
Wrong. Pay is terrible. Got an offer and was almost offended. Also, the benefits package is not nearly as good. But, it's legit 45 hours a week ( my friend switched) and no initiatives unless you actually want to.
8% increase
Maybe you're already ballin haha what's the number!
My friend was offered 130k post one year MBA for Consultant in ATL. Seems industry avg. Consultant is their lowest level.
Thanks - That makes sense, they have been opening offices in new markets and I bet it will get to that point. Thanks for the info 👍🏻
What was the offer?
Ugh - 8% is very low. I'm done with interviews. I am just waiting for an offer. But something like that will not do it.
I have no idea what to expect. I'm currently a Manager (2nd year) and I'm around that salary. I'm in good track for SM, so if it's not solid, I will likely stay put.
