At least you got a denial. They don’t even review mine
We are selectively hiring for highly technical roles....so unless you are technical - the application process has gotten more competitive
I hope not since I just finished my third interview today lol
there's a slow down in non technical roles, but that shouldn't affect Q3 hiring much an won't affect current applicants (per Sundar's email you can look up from last week)
It’s worth noting that 98.9% (Based off the latest Google info) of Google applicants who applied didn’t receive an offer and a majority of those who applied won’t even receive a contact. It’s the unfortunate problem of having to work through the literal thousands of applications a day, there’s not enough time in the day to do the job and also provide everyone with updates.
Basically, take it with a grain of salt, it’s fiercely competitive and very few people will ever wear the hat, which means a lot of very deserving people get passed over.
I meant thousands of qualified or post screen applicants. Google as a whole receives around 4 million applicants per year and I still like to find half of my candidate pool from sourcing for passive candidates. I look at every application until we have a large and diverse enough client pool of the best talent to present to the HM. Part of being selective means devoting a lot of time to sourcing even after you have found 15 good candidates, we allocate up to 3 weeks per position just in sourcing the right candidates which means we can end up with a pretty impressive pool of candidates for initial HM review.
Not to rip on you OP, but honestly don't get posts like this.
Referrals don't mean anything. Everyone has one. Think you are a great fit? So does everyone else. Google is highly competitive. That's all there is to it.
