Has anyone looked at the requirements to be on the federal approved mediators qualifications list? I kinda feel like the bar is set to ensure only career attorneys who have decided to mediate as a retirement plan can meet the standards. Thoughts? Is it even worth the effort?

Yes you need plenty of experience to get on the panel. I’ve been a member for 5 years. Define “worth.” Yes, there is some marketing value, but this may not be the best marketing opportunity or a mediation practice. The biggest number of cases that need court mediators are small dollar ADA violations cases.

like

I’d like to add FMLA cases are popular in federal court too.

I attended a webinar by the National Association of Certified Mediators last month. The presenter said mentoring alongside other mediators is one way to become a mediator. Another mediator I found on LinkedIn stated to check with local community agencies, mainly children and families. Depending on your state, check their requirements to learn if you would need to be an attorney to become a mediator.

Do you mean as related to federal mediation or mediation in general?

Yes, it was for federal and national mediation. I do suggest checking their website to see if the information is what you're looking for.

I had filed a complaint against Goibibo, who delayed my flight cancellation request until 1 day before departure hence the airline charged a higher cancellation amount.

A friend of mine introduced me to the portal when I filed a complaint explaining the matter in detail, uploading Twitter DM screenshots, where the company was clearly denying responsibilities on the above.

Took 2 months but today my refund was initiated by Goibibo.
