I did in my forties. I spent 20+ years at one firm. Leaving was like a break up. I spent 2 years wondering if I did the right thing. At the other side I am really pleased as it did work out. I think it’s worth it if you are sure you have run your race in your old job/life/career. It is fun and enjoyable now but I don’t think you should think it’s an easy move.
Good luck and def do it if you are confident you know why (if not, think a bit harder!). There will be bumps so you need to stay the course through the bumps
I posted about this as well but I'm not sure how to navigate it as well. I've been thinking about going into education but that would pay way less money.
I did it. I’m married and my wife makes a decent income, but if she wasn’t, it’d be hard. My mental health is much better though
What are you not enjoying about your current job? I have had a few times like that in my career, but never knew what to turn to, so I ended up staying the course.
