Has anyone recently gone through digital background verification where the system automatically showed all previous work engagements, including freelance/contract work without PF?

A friend worked full-time at one company and also did a freelance contract (no PF from the freelance company). During the new employer's digital BGV, the portal automatically displayed both the full-time job and the freelance engagement.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Is moonlighting not possible nowadays ?

I worked in the same org for 5.5years and switched in march 2022. I was not allocated a project for 3 months hence changed the org and joined new in July 2022.
