Yeah, it's usually okay to back out of an offer if you receive something better. Just know that you most likely won't be able to work with the first employer again since you're kind of burning a bridge by doing that. That being said, you gotta look out for yourself first, so do what makes sense for you
It's unfortunate but you gotta look out for number one. A job is a job and they'll find someone else. If you're not hoping to work for the company sometime in the future, it won't affect your career at all I don't think.
Yes I’ve done this. You’ll feel bad about it at first but the feeling won’t last long tbh. 🤷🏽♀️ You have to do what’s best for you. I do not regret rescinding my acceptance for another role that better aligned with my career goals and offered better compensation.
Honestly, most companies only keep records for a short period of time for tax purposes. Memories are short once the employees turnover and legal requirements expire
Yes I have had to do this once. I got a job offer and accepted and then another job I had interviewed for called me the morning I was starting the new role. and made me an offer. It ended up working out okay because i hadn't started yet and they were pretty understanding.
