I've heard, anecdotally, that a lot of people are thinking about emigrating to one of the intelligent countries. It's tragic that after nearly 250 years, a few thousand voters in a few swing states can condemn the US to a trajectory of ignorance and disinformation. But, here we are. For a lot of people it would make sense to move on.

Canada jumped on the chance early on and was actively recruiting, though our efforts have slowed a little bit recently. I'm all for it and I hope it creates growth here, but the problem is that Canada was barely supporting us to begin with. It looks like a great way to get out of the US for anyone looking to bail though.

Yes, I’ve been seriously considering it too. With everything happening here, the idea of doing meaningful work in a country that values science feels like a lifeline. It’s tough watching things unravel, but it’s comforting to know there are options out there.

I haven't looked into the details yet, but I will be soon. I've always wanted to live in Europe, and this administration's anti-science, anti-sanity stances are only adding fuel to that fire. I'm so ready to get out of here.

lol. Good luck with the endeavor. I worked in Europe for 5 years in drug development. Thankfully I had the job under US terms. The pay then was 1/2 to 1/3 in most European countries when comparing with my colleagues. Also, socialism is no joke. Google taxation for CA and the EU.
Plus much of the DEI push for companies still chancing DOJ discrimination suits is moving on to India and China where the pay is 1/10th.

It does sound like a nice opportunity. I'm not sure I could leave my family behind. But I've always wanted to travel and experience other cultures. I probably wouldn't get a better chance.

My monthly salary is around $6.4k after-tax. Living in NYC. Do you think it’s reasonable that I pay:
- about $1.5k on rent

- about $900 on student loan
- about $2k on food and etc.
My saving goals is around $3k so been trying to adjust my monthly spending.

Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?

How much should a person with a Masters in pharm/tox expect to make?

I’ve worked in clinical research in the academic/non profit world for the past five years. I want to transition to a role in pharma or a CRO, but haven’t been successful yet because I don’t have industry experience. Does anyone know of any CROs/pharma companies that are willing to hire someone with research expertise from an academic medical center rather than already in industry? Thanks!

Hey all! I have recently moved to a full time position wfh as a trial manager. It has been a struggle wfh so I am reconsidering my options. What positions are out there possible for transition for on site, except CRA?

Hi all! I recently finished my Masters in Biology. I worked on a few studies with human subjects as well as animal work. I am hoping to get a job in clinical research as either a CRC or CRA. I previously worked at a doctors office as a care manager for 4 years, but outside of my academic work I don’t have experience in research. What advice do you all have for entering the field in my position?
Thanks!!
