Has anyone successfully made the move from an AD role in an enabling function (market research, CI, forecasting) to a director role on a commercial strategy team at Pharma or biotech? I’ve heard it’s difficult but was wondering if there are any success stories and what worked in your favor if so.

7 year lawyer here. Been with the same big national firm all 7 years (not BigLaw) doing complex litigation. Been working remote a long time due to moving around for wife’s job. My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills.
