I rent but this happened to me. I got behind on all my other bills so I could make sure rent was covered. But my rent is $2,200….

People start having trouble covering their mortgages for all kinds of reasons. My parents talked to their lender (a local credit union) and were able to renegotiate their loan. BUT this was ~15 years ago and the house was underwater (as was much of the market at that time), so the lender wasn’t eager to foreclose. Not sure the same incentives in favor of working things out exist today.

Sorry this is happening to you.

F - no but this is why I’m never moving under $3k mortgage pre covid!

I’ve been taking temp work and freelance ai work until that dried up. Unemployment just ran out.

I don’t see how that resolved the conflict…and he’s fully pressuring me to meet. How to respond?
