Hello fishes. Need your suggestions. I have worked at Accenture for 2 yrs as a software developer and due to interest in core side, took training in Rv-Vlsi and placed in capgemini as PHYSICAL DESIGN ENGINEER . And it's been 9 months, I didn't get any project. I am much frustrated as I am wasting my imp time. I'm regretting now of leaving Accenture :( Can you give me suggestions on what to learn in this free time? Intel Corporation Qualcomm MediaTek Synopsys Inc. Advanced Micro Devices Inc.

Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

There's nothing wrong with negotiating as long as what you're asking for is reasonable. And, of course, your approach matters. If you get an offer and it's disappointing, you could say you were expecting more and try to negotiate for more. As long as you're professional in your approach it shouldn't cause any problems.
I asked for a promotion after already doing the work of the next tier up. The initial bump in pay was less than I expected, so I explained how the scope of expectations and responsibilities is greater, therefore my pay should move proportionately with where I'm at in the range of the grade. It may not happen overnight, but could help you get there progressively.

I have but I think leverage depends on whether you are being promoted inside your team and the relationships you have with the recruiter and team.

Good question. I was wondering the same.
