Hi everyone! First time posting here. I am in a good sales role at my current company but it’s my first solid AE role in the tech industry. I am interested in exploring other opportunities as I know there are a lot out there, but is anyone else worried about the current economic state? I’m worried that if I find a new position for a new company and the economy going to sh** that I am worried about job security. Anyone else feel this way?

I live in Sydney, Australia and am looking to move over to NYC in the coming months and get a job as a Strategist (I have ~4 years experience, my Fishbowl profile is out of date).

Has anyone else had a mentor (assigned to them by the Company) who seemed to have it out for you? I mean downright sabotage to make you look bad left and right. I didn’t realize it at first. She was fake friendly, but she was discrete too. Some of the executives thought she was amazing, but I had to clean up her work all the time. She wasn’t above me either on the chain of command. Later I found out she had tried for the exec assistant role and they didn’t choose her, they wanted me instead.

Toronto banks: remote or not? They sometimes post jobs where it doesn’t say it’s remote, but no branch/ location/address either. Then you get an interview and they tell you it’s remote/hybrid(1-2-3days, take your pick)/on-site. My position in sales, growing existing accounts with my company, is being eliminated in October. I either take a bit of a pay cut to do something really similar but more stable on the service side, or move to new business (which is not attractive to me), or I find something new. Got an offer for Sr. A.E selling SaaS. $150K base, OTE $275K and 20,000 RSU (5 years vest) but value of RSU is undisclosed since this is a startup.

Having a hard time with the RSU offer since I have no idea if 20K shares is good or not. Any insights or advise is much appreciated!
