Your thoughts and feelings are valid. Seems like there's too much going on that you can't help but anticipate instability. Try hanging on in your current role at the moment and try to observe what the next 3-6months would be like. It should also give you enough time to evaluate which roles to choose or companies to apply to.
Totally understandable. You just have to ask yourself how much of a risk you'd be willing to take to find out whether the grass is greener elsewhere. Are you stable enough in your life to handle a layoff if it were to happen?
I think this depends on the kind of company you aim to join. Start-ups and medium enterprises might suffer. Bigger companies are less likely to suffer a similar fate. Still, I would recommend solid research before switching.
