Have you ever tried amending other benefits in your salary negotiations? When I am in talks about accepting a position, I always try to get an extra week of FTO, for example.

I always ask for more PTO, no matter how good the offering is. A faster accrual rate is worth shooting for too, if not as likely to be approved. Very beneficial if you end up staying for a while.

I've tried, but it's not usually very successful. A lot of companies have a pretty standard and uniform benefits process that isn't very negotiable. I like the idea of it and I've definitely tried in the past, but usually I'm told that the benefits package is what it is.

I typically always try to negotiate in higher pay along with more PTO. I am usually successful in getting a higher base salary but haven't ever been able to get more PTO. It is always worth a try though.

I once got an extra week of vacation so it would match what I was leaving.

As a former sales assistant, I have asked for a larger percentage of team commissions and gotten it. I made it clear that the base salary was barely paying my bills, even had them outlined on a monthly basis if I needed to present the info.

Maybe a bonus?

Thoughts on offer. 5.5 YOE in BV / M&A. Broad experience over that time in Valuation advisory and strong network within current firm - anticipating 5-7 yrs to partner where I am. CPA / ABV. M2 current. Current salary $125k. Offered $150k + $7.5k SOB for a lateral move to much bigger (not b4) PA firm. Probably weaker prospects of accelerated partner track.

What's the best form of compensation to ask for and why?

My employers' CEO just announced that they just received $7 million from investors. He wants to use that money to offer incentives to employees that hussle and drive more revenue for the company. Cash bonuses, raises, profit-sharing, company equity, 401k match, etc.

Got offered 68k after 2 years as a contractor (62.5k) doing project management/business admin in a tech department at a Fortune 500 bank. I have an A.S degree and working on my bachelor’s/masters may 2024. I negotiated to 84k NYC. I have seen interns get offered 38 per hour (79k) for internship positions with a similar role.

Thoughts? Should I go higher? I do my job well that’s why they decided to keep me as a contractor after my internship.
