I just got a new job, but it's not what I expected. I was expecting a career opportunity and a chance to learn and grow in my field, but instead I'm stuck doing the same thing as before, just from home.

Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that. He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip. He was a republican staffer on capitol hill.

My employers' CEO just announced that they just received $7 million from investors. He wants to use that money to offer incentives to employees that hussle and drive more revenue for the company. We're not sure what those incentives look like yet, but here are some post-announcement rumors from my co-workers:

Should I Go Back and Reneg? Recently I was offered a role as a Project Implementation Manager (In Retirement Services) .The salary range for Colorado residents was 65-89K. I’m located in NY so the recruiter said he would try to get me more. Ultimately he came back at 90K which is a bit inline with that I was seeing on Glassdoor but approx looks like I may leave 10-12K on the table. Hi All! Looking for some advice. I am a manager a country club but I do everything. I’m in charge of outside events and member events, in charge of the front of house staff, scheduling, ordering and membership sales for the club. I feel I am very underpaid at $45k. I do get commission but it’s very low ($10k give or take for the year). I work 6/7 days a week sometimes 10+ hrs/day. I’ve been researching salaries to be able to negotiate higher pay. I want to ask for $60k-is this reasonable?

Right now I’m working as a junior product engineer in Amsterdam. From januari on I’ll be a medior product engineer. And now I’m in the middle of negotiating about my salary increase. The salary that I’m being offered feels low (41.5k).

My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. It’s an executive director position, so I would assume it’s a decent target bonus, but without that in writing it could honestly be a gift basket at the end of the year. I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? How can I know I'm getting the best salary and not just settling at the low end of the range?
