Hi Guyz,
Any one from IBM ?
I went through the entire recruitment process and got selected for IBM ISL. Now I am being told by the HR that they are unable to release offer as there is a hiring freeze.
Can any one please tell me if its correct or just an excuse not to give me offer. If its true, when will this freeze be removed?

Thing is people like this will make the joys of rumors! It's amazing how some folks love to spread tales, and then some HR or management folks stumble upon them and decide to turn fiction into fact.
Can you imagine the pain for management when they realize their employees are making these type of comments (Though mostly they dint give a think about it)
And let's get real here, Any MNC relies on India for the bulk of their savings, not from their employees in the US, Canada, or the UK.
So, let's keep our feet on the ground, shall we?
70 percent of the revenue income will be made from the savings of made from Indian employees.
With 90,000 employees, if everyone got a good hike, say 75K per person, we'd be looking at 675 crores. Do you seriously think any company would shower that kind of cash on their employees?
Have to be thankful that getting hikes and jobs are safe at this particular market.
And Organization is definitely not stopping us if we have got a good opportunity at some other organization.

You must have a higher CTC. Have you ever heard of 4 YOE with 5 LPA package with a 200 Rs per month hike? The same way they are continuously hiring with the same skill set for higher CTC?
When are they planning to release the hike.letter

No, it's not true.
Dry promotion with 2% minimum hike
Are u saying promotion will be dry this year and minimum hike will be 2%
No, definitely not! People with 4 years of experience in any domain can easily get at least 8 LPA-14 LPA. But, how on earth can an organization match market standards if you've been loyal and stayed with the same company for 4 years? Imagine there are 500 such loyal folks in the same boat.
What can a company do? They'll hire a new person for a higher package who has just resigned from another job. Because even if they match the market standards, no employee will stick around with the same organization.
But here's the kicker: work on a good project, have stellar leadership, and seek out onsite opportunities. If you want your career to soar, your leadership needs to be top-notch, and you need to build a great rapport with your managers. Let them know your aspirations. Sometimes, it's all about luck too 😂. And hey, if all else fails, you can always hope your loyalty points get converted into a magical salary Hike.
There are many leaders who are staying in the same org from. More than 10+ years.
Their package may not be market standards.
But a 10-15 percent lesser than of it.
