Hello. I just got licensed in CA for property and casualty. What is the best way to find a remote sales insurance agent job? Also, can anyone share what a bad & good commission compensation plan is just to have an idea of what to accept and what to reject? Also, anything else anyone would like to share that I should know is welcomed!

Unless you are opening up your own place you don’t get to choose your commission plan. Commission is negotiated with the agency and the carrier. So you may get 15% on policies with Travlers, 12% with The Hartford, 15% with Chubb.

It can also be dependent on the line of business as well.

Hi Fishes,

I have an offer of around 39 LPA + bonus and my wife is holding an offer of 32 LPA in India. Now I have received another offer from a fintech organization in Berlin, Germany who are providing me 69k Euros as base salary + 5k Euros as RSU and also an on call support of 5k Euros annually + complete relocation assistance package. My wife currently doesn't have any offer for Germany and might need to search for a job after reaching there. Is it worth? Need your suggestions please.

How does one tell their boss (owner of the company) that you are burnt out? The sheer volume of work is exhausting and I haven’t taken a true vacation as we are a small company so if something urgent comes to my email I feel like I must respond. I was given an additional title and more responsibilities last year as well but only a 3% raise for it.

I’ve been a licensed general lines (2-20) insurance agent for year and a half and have sold around 2M in premium, of which most of it is personal lines (homeowners, DP), and some commercial lines business. Even though I’m licensed to write my own business, the sole producer in the company is my boss. I currently make 35k + 15k in commissions (approximately). Is this a normal salary? Or how much should I be making? Appreciate your help

How does underwriting compare to PIP litigation in terms of flex time (ability to stop/start work throughout day, work at 2 am if needed, etc)
