I lived in Düsseldorf for a couple of months, several years ago. It's a beautiful area and a quick train ride to Frankfurt and other lovely places. I would say, I think you'll struggle to find work if you don't speak German. During my time there, I did meet people who spoke English, but they definitely didn't prefer it, and I felt like they looked down on me for not knowing the local language. I would suggest trying to pick up German as quickly as you can, possibly by taking an intensive language class like I did. This will likely help with your job search, especially in the finance industry.
I was once on a restaurant in Munich and they didn’t even want to seat me since they didn’t have an English menu (I’m Mexican btw) - thanks for google translate I was able to order. So good luck!
