Any mass hiring happening for freshers??????
Hello All, I have offer in hand of 27.5 LPA+15% variable from ZS Associates as a BT Solutions delivery consultant and now my current company is ready to retain me by matching the offer & assuring that they will send me onsite to UK in couple of months. Now I am in a dilemma of what to do as I have been looking for onsite opportunities for my entire career so far. Kindly share your thoughts. How far back of employment history should I list in my résumé?
I still use two page resumes (and it worked well for me when making a move last year), and as a hiring manager still see a lot of two page resumes. I would keep your most recent/relevant experience on the first page, though.
If your promotions are all closely aligned is it a situation where you can list all of the roles with dates and then have just one description? For example:
Company Company Dates
Title 1 Title 1 Dates
Title 2 Title 2 Dates
Description...
No matter what I wouldn't go into too much depth with the description of each position, though. Bullet points are ideal for being able to get a sense of things at a glance! Since you clearly have at least nine years of experience don't list early jobs that aren't relevant to your line of work. I once received a "twenty year resume" from someone who had been in the workforce for a long time, meaning they only went back twenty years. They brought it up in the interview, indicating that they could provide a full CV upon request. This can also help if you're in a situation where you're trying to avoid potential age discrimination.
For what it's worth, when I'm looking at a resume I usually start with skimming the current or most recent position, then jump to education if anything specific is required for the role (just to make sure they're qualified because HR and the automatic scanning doesn't always do a good job of that). If I'm still interested I'll then go over the whole resume. The last thing I do is skim the cover letter (if included), reading in detail any that are more than a basic form letter.
