I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?
My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.
L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

My wife has her joining date extended from Randstad and no joining date has been provided. What are the chances of her offer getting revoked. She has around 1 year of experience in HR. 1. WLB is great. Best in industry I have seen yet.
2. Hike internal can be dicey , with the recession coming.
3. Plenty of training and they bring very well trained instructors with good content.
4. Onsite opportunity: Depends on your dept/project and onshore counterparts. But I have seen a good no of people leaving for onsite this year itself.
