I am looking to make a career change to HR. I currently make 75K as a sales and development coach. I had a recent offer for a state government position in a talent acquisition role but I’d be taking a $25K pay cut. I am extremely over qualified for the position but it could possibly be a stepping stone and gives me the time to acquire SHRM certifications and possibly start taking classes to get my MBA. What’s the best argument for asking for a promotion/raise? It’s the first time I’m doing that. I feel that I have a lot of responsibilities compared to when I started.

I’m doing my first UX portfolio on Wix. I have the case studies content drafted out, but I’m struggling with brainstorming wireframes/actual UI for my case studies. I make it a rule to look for dribbble/behance for inspo but only sketch when im not looking at things because I don’t want to copy directly.

I’ve tried using paper/thin markers highlighters, tried using procreate, and also illustrator/photoshop & a tablet. I keep running into issues where I feel overwhelmed. How do I simplify this?

I’ve had several great interviews with a few diff companies. Or rather, I thought they went well but then I get the dreaded “thanks but we made the difficult decision to move forward with other candidates”. I’ve asked for feedback but so far have gotten none.

Bridge between Customer Support and Product Design?

Hiya! I am in the final round of interviews at an EdTech platform for a role that is the bridge between the Customer Support and UX/Product Design teams. I act as that bridge in my current role but on a more informal basis because it is a smaller company.

I am product designer with a fair amount of experience (6yrs).

Recently was interviewed for a Sr. role in Booking but unfortunately the team finds me better suited as a core individual contributor.

I am also in the advanced stages of some lead designer positions in other companies.

However I am really interested in joining the team at Booking, especially because of the design culture.

What should be my reasons to accept or not accept the offer from booking?

Unlimited PTO is not working for me.
Flexibility is great but I need a max limit of days to make sure I’m safe. Anyone having the same issues?
