HELP! What can be causing that? There used to be a different bush in there that got dried up like 4 months ago, and the gardener replaced it with this one after spraying the soil to eliminate anything that was causing it. But now is happening again, and is only this one, all the other ones right next to it, are fine. This is a blue Juniper.

A one-time soil spray isn't going to eliminate anything, for multiple reasons. Soil holds a *lot* of water, a surface spray will only wet a tiny fraction of it. Effective fungicide application to soils requires application to more than the surface, either by drenching the soil or spreading/mixing in a solid form that dissolves in rain or irrigation (and so covers all the soil). If you're starting from seed, spraying the soil in the hole where you plant the seed can protect the young seedling, but I'm guessing that was a transplant and the vast majority of the root ball was planted into totally untreated soil.

The other reason is that virtually no fungicides (and none approved for use in areas where people live) kill everything in one shot. They need repeat applications to keep the disease organism controlled, at least until the plant is established.

I don't know what disease that plant has, but D1 linked to a good resource.

Water and dish soap for what? Dish soap is sometimes used as a cheap substitute for an insecticide but most dish soap is toxic to plants. Even if not toxic it's not going to do anything positive for a fungal or bacterial infection except maybe wash off some spores (but getting the leaves wet might be worse than leaving the spores...)

The mulch looking dry doesn't mean the soil under it isn't wet. Things dry from the surface down.

Does anyone know what’s going on with my philodendron? I’ve had this plant for years and just recently got it to start producing new leaves again and all the new ones have these lighter spots, but all the old growth is just a solid dark green like the leaf in the background. Good thing, bad thing, or just a thing that happens? Anyone have some insight?

Really odd, the bottom leaf on my fiddle turned yellow REALLY fast, most of the rest of the leaves seem fine. It’s right in an east facing window with maybe 1-2 hours of direct sun per day the. Tons of ambient lighting the rest of the day. Pls help!

What house plants are NOT toxic to cats? I swear every time I go to buy a new plant and look it up it says “toxic to pets”. I have a dumb cane which I know is toxic but didn’t realize when I bought it so now I just keep it in the laundry room away from my cat when I’m at work but that means no daytime sunlight. Would like suggestions on which plants I can buy that are safe to leave alone with my cat 😸

Hello folks, I’m after some advice please. I recently bought a couple of indoor plants and added to the cart what I think is a very expensive bottle of natural mist to use on the leaves. All organic, glass bottle etc. supposed to use it 2-3 times per week but 2 weeks in I’m down to half a bottle and it was £15 (approx $20). I understand that I need to nurture the plants but it strikes me as a rather expensive mist. Is there anything you’d recommend I can use instead? Thanks.
