My therapist says she has a ton of cleared individuals who work at agencies. Have a clearance and regularly see her and at not super worried because I’d rather be happy and healthy than depressed with a clearance.
If you need any recommendations in the DMV area let me know
The concern is when you go up for investigation they go and interview your therapist right?
False. They don't. You don't even give that information. And the question is only related to specific mental health conditions. Reread the question. Search for it and look at the form and you'll see what they ask
There are actually therapists who have clearance for this situation. They can take awhile to find, but my ex needed that since almost everything he needed to work through was around his intel work for the military. The search may be frustrating; just don’t give up.
Also just realized I may have misunderstood your concern. If it’s the reverse of what I thought: all therapists are bound by HIPAA and won’t be able to disclose the content of your sessions, even to the government.
They basically just ask “is this person sound of mind/capable of protecting national security interests"
You’re the best person to assess what the answer to that question would be.
