I keep hearing that networking is the best way to land a job, but what do you do when your entire network is in a field you’re trying to leave?

I’m a teacher trying to transition into anytjing else but network is all educators, and that’s not helpful for breaking into a new industry. Plus, even letting them know I’m looking to leave opens up a whole other can of worms. And i recently moved to a new city.

So where do I even start?

Since working in Wealth Management the most consistent advice I’ve received is “Don’t burn bridges” because apparently in WM people firm hop all the time, so you are likely to work with them again at some point.
