Worked at securitas for 5yrs. Hated the lack of communication from DM’s. Plus there wasn’t any room for growth.
For me, I have been doing security since 2012. I am at a retirement community I like it's more on the customer service side of things however with security as a whole there needs to be more pay. The cost of living is ridiculously high And working full time doing security At 14$ -15$ Does not equal up.
I worked at Weiser security for 8 months and it’s extremely strict, allot of paperwork, very strict uniform rules, ect. I am happy it was that strict because allot of other jobs aren’t, and it prepared me for the job I’m working now which is armed security. I’d recommend staying for a while and learning until you figure out your next step. I love armed security and am making it my career. Weiser was a great foundation and so is securitas, and allied
That's cool, I'm actually about to sign up to do training to be an armed guard shortly. I may stay with Securitas once I get that or I may look for other jobs with another security company.
I’ve worked my current job about 7 1/2 years now. And I love the people at my job. The employees I have to deal with and everything. But our chain of command is terrible. I’ve been told if I do go beyond the chain of command past my supervisor that I’ll get in trouble for that. We also don’t get paid holidays unless we are there working on that day. I’ve talked to several people about it and they say it sounds odd. We also aren’t Union if that has anything to do with it. This was also my first job technically. Just feel very naive, stupid and taken advantage of. If anyone has any suggestions for me please feel free to reach out to me. I don’t really know my rights as far as a worker and what if anything I can do. Just sucks at the moment because I’ve missed the Memorial Day holiday because of a fumigation and I have to miss another days pay in July. For that holiday. Just hard with everything going on atm. My husband is also on a temporary layoff. Which doesn’t help.
Allied Universal here. A lot of clients give us bad reviews but I've been here for years and the work environment is actually okay. Granted this is my first job ever and once I get some experience I might consider moving to another company when I feel like I'm stagnating. For now, I really learn a lot where I'm at thanks to a few good supervisors.
I work for Valle Security of Texas and Valle Services, I do the regular unarmed work. Also do the Music Festivals where I supervise the new guys. We work the Barricades between the stage and crowd, Yes I was at Travis Scott at Astroworld, Austin City Limits, Freaky Deaky, CotA Rollining Stones. Mostly I drive as I have a Intrastate Class A CDL. Guard work pay is a little above average $15+ depending g on Level and contract, but the Event Staff pay $18-$20 is good when I get it.

Presently employed
August 2023 Given Site Supervisor Position
Corporate Security transfer covering 128-man hours, utilizing 4 guards.
They reward employees who keep attendance as a priority. I have had zero absences since August 2023 to present. Learn to gain solidarity and always be loyal to your security counterparts. Do try to warn of infractions that go against code. If they refuse, turn them in and gain integrity and honesty with supervisors. This will add value in the company organization. I currently make $42K a year and carry an A rating by the client. This is why I like my company, and they have allowed me to accel.
Worked at Allied Universal a while ago and I liked it a lot. Not bad for a beginning job.
