Hey y’all, looking for some startup career advice. I was human capital consulting at Deloitte, then spent the past year founding a wellness startup. Now looking to join a tech startup.

I’d say I’m more of a generalist (~6 yrs exp) and finding it tough to pivot into a niche role like PM. I’ve explored CoS, Strategy & Ops, even Sales/CS, but most places want someone who’s done it before.

Has anyone here made a similar transition?

My company’s SOP template has a table of contents and a section at the top where the SOP owner is supposed to add a short statement containing the “Why” of the SOP, meaning a statement about what the SOP is supposed to solve for/ accomplish. A co-worker recently told me that it should also contain a checklist of the 4-5 main points of what the team member should know how to do after reading the SOP…. This seems really redundant to me. Thoughts?

Key positives for my current employer are pay and security. But my new role within the company isn't working for me, and ultimately I don't think it is for the company either.

A much much smaller (20 people) company offered me a role.

With the global economic situation as is, is it worth the risk to change to a job I know i'd like more with less pay, and potentially less job security?

I had an interview yesterday for an AM position for a start up. The salary is 30k more than what I’m making now and it seems like the culture is much better than my current company. I prepped for days… I bombed it. The interviewer repeated two questions because I wasn’t answering them in a way they wanted. Can I just say that was a humbling experience🙃

Question fellow fishes: How long do we actually think fintech is going to dominate? When it comes to substantial wealth, security outweighs convenience. Seems to me like people reach an upper limit with fintech apps before switching over to traditional banks and firms. What say you?
