My company’s SOP template has a table of contents and a section at the top where the SOP owner is supposed to add a short statement containing the “Why” of the SOP, meaning a statement about what the SOP is supposed to solve for/ accomplish. A co-worker recently told me that it should also contain a checklist of the 4-5 main points of what the team member should know how to do after reading the SOP…. This seems really redundant to me. Thoughts?

It does seem a little redundant. But, it’s similar to “Learning Objectives.” I guess it just depends on how it’s worded, but less is more in my opinion.

Traditional SOPs are becoming irrelevant with new learning platforms and point of use trainings like elearnings. I cut out anything that isnt required.

Ex: there is a column "points", a new record should be inserted only if points in the new record is greater than highest points already inserted in db or else throw that points are less

How i should approach this if i get lot of requests (say 10k) all a time. How can I achieve consistency and handle with less response time

Question for moms. I’m getting married next year and have several close family members that will have babies ages 8-11 months old by then. What are some ways I can support the moms and make it an enjoyable experience for them? We have a separate room at the venue that I was thinking could be offered to the parents to use, or potentially hiring a babysitter for them (either at the venue or back at the hotel). I would love for the families to be able to come, as it is out of town.

I applied for an L&D position with Deloitte about 2 months. It still says my application is in review. Any tips or suggestions? I tried reaching out on LinkedIn to a few people but haven’t heard back.

I am currently an HR professinal of 3 years with past background as a teacher/advisor in higher ed. I am aiming to pivot to a more L&D, training specialist type role in order to leverage the skills obtained in both areas. It would be the perfect career for me. Any openings or hiring at your company? I am not super concerned about the title as long as there is room for growth and I can pay for my 3 kids' daycare tuitions. ;)

Reposting from HR bowl: I’ve heard there is a hiring boom, especially for L&D roles. I was let go recently from a toxic environment (removed the company from everything) after only 4 days of work. I’m actively job searching but not receiving ideal hits. I see a lot of senior level L&D roles but not as many for specialist roles, specifically in tech. I have 5.5 years of experience. Any advice for me? I’m also seeking therapy for the trauma & coping, now ready for securing that next role!

Hi there- I have a couple questions I’d love some insight on. What is a typical salary range for an associate dir or dir of learning & dev in NYC?

I just graduated with my PsyD in school psych & several years experience in education, clinical psych & also as an admin/EA at a marketing firm HQ but am planning on interviewing for learning & dev roles. Total burnout in education and mental health fields. Could this be an obtainable entry point level/role given my career snapshot above? Thanks!

I have tried applying for specialist to Director positions but I’m not having much luck. Any suggestions on position type and level that I should be focused on. Need some benchmarks: What would average/good survey results be for a leadership skills class (instructor-led)? We ask for the participant’s experience (did you like it, would you recommend, etc.), and also send an impact survey out 2 months later to their manager (have you seen positive behavior changes since training). Our experience survey is at 92% positive and impact to behaviors is at 83% positive. Anything I can compare to in order to share the story with leadership?

Anyone use Adobe Captivate Prime as LMS? Thought on it?

Just wondering.. L&D Specialist salary and duties for others. Degree? No degree?

I applied for a Director Learning and Development (L&D) role at McKinsey about a month ago via a referral. About a week ago, my McKinsey employee (who referred me) received an automated email saying that I had moved to the pre-screening process of the recruitment process and that I'll hear from the recruiter shortly.

It's more than a week now and I haven't heard back. Can anyone shed light on the process -- what to expect, timelines, what is the interview process like, etc.

Thanks!

Anyone familiar with CVS Health’s L&D strategic plan or willing to share info about the L&D department? Prepping for an upcoming interview.
