My two cents on this question, choose Harman and work from where ever your home is -
1. Save money while working from home.
2. Harman is an awesome brand.
3. Bangalore is not that costly as people assume but, its similar to Mumbai so you would have an idea i presume.
4. Bangalore is silicon valley.
5. Harman is better than Mindtree(Mindtree has now acquired L&T) so i think they would be hiring for LnT. Just double check with recruiter once.
6. Kolkata has no growth period. Been there, suffered that.
7. Yes if you want to stay in comfort zone then choose Kolkata but, if you want out of the box exposure and experience Bangalore is the place to be.
8. Kolkata is running 10 years behind the current time.
**No offense, but, that is the truth as per my personal experience** :)
Thanks! My plan is to negotiate with Harman Connected Service if they provide permanent wfh, so that I can get both the flavour of good work culture and staying in hometown. Not sure about there decision.
For # 5 : L&T acquired 60% stake of Mindtree. I am hired for Mindtree only.

Go to Bangalore. It will change your life.

If Kolkata is not cheap anymore, then the discussion is over. Choose Bangalore!
If pay packages are same, then Kolkata will be cheaper than Bangalore always. Growth and hikes mostly depend on projects. And learning depends on the individual. And you can change and relocate anytime. It is better if you can directly ask people in your tech stack from both companies and compare. All the best..
If no location constraint, go to Bangalore
Go to B'lore. Kolkata te growth nei.
Kolkata isn't sasta anymore. Except house rent in particular localities, expenses are similar to blr, hyd, etc. I have seen people with kolkata as base location doing as well as any other.

First of all there is no office of Mindtree in kolkata, there is one in bhubaneshwar. Anyways I would suggest for Mindtree, don't only think about cities...think about the strength of resume after Mindtree. Rest depends on you..
Thanks for your suggestion. But on what basis you are setting the rank of Mindtree as 1?
What do you mean Mindtree, Kolkata? Did they open up here?
