How are hours at Simpson Thacher LA?
Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

The interviews have only gotten difficult now because a lot of good people have been leaving Quantiphi since Q4 2023 and the ones remaining here are so bad that the projects are always escalated to the leadership.
They are trying to retain Good people that are left more now after this realization but do not have the budget to provide actually good packages or appraisals and they only have migration projects for data engineering. This becomes too repetitive and your skill level goes down as well with time due to this.
The campus hires are simply promoted to Sr. Data engineer without being tested or merit after two years and when you test them you get to know that they lack even the most basic knowledge of SQL and Python.
Talking about their hybrid policy, the office space is okay but they have no good food provision. People have gotten sick multiple times now from the caterer they currently have in both Mumbai and Bangalore office.
All I will say, please look for better workplace, there must be plenty out there who can treat their employees better without even asking
They have offered me senior data engineer role with 19.25 LPA at 3.8 yoe. So, 12 LPA will be a lowball offer at 3.6 yoe.
Worst company, they will ask u to resign with 30 day DOJ , then revoke the offer letter after you resign
