LOVE Adam Grant and the Work Life series!
Change is good. Hard to say goodbye, but this is good. Congratulations!
Sounds to me like this is a great move!
Clearly, there was something pushing you to apply to other positions. Sounds like a good move! Good Luck!
I'd say say where you are but look for another job. The job market socks right now.
I am in the spirits and wine industry so the market is pretty good and spirits are doubling each year but just the fact leaving is hard
Sometimes it’s easier to stay in a job that doesn’t fit because it does take an effort to transition to the new one. I really think this is why a lot of people don’t move on even when it’s not a good fit. It takes courage and listening to your gut instinct. Ask yourself this: would you still make the move for the career growth alone? I bet you would. I’ve noticed it takes about two weeks to detox from a toxic workplace that under values me. That might be what’s at work here. The devil that you know is always easier than the devil that you don’t know. Don’t doubt yourself. You are making a choice to better yourself don’t look back. I have changed jobs every two or three years since the 2008 recession when I wanted more challenge or the environment was toxic. I looked back now and don’t regret any move I made.
7 years of dedication with limited career growth? If you've been offered the next step in role.. take it! You've earned it and DESERVE IT! Do NOT second guess your worth. You got the role so you don't be intimidated and question it.
