Thoughts on homage watches?
I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

Final rounds are all about delivery of the answer. Sharp crisp communication. Charm and smoothness.
If you are awkward, doesn’t matter if the answer is right. This phase is all about polish and general heuristics
Remember who you are competing with.
Really hard to say where you might be falling short. Everything is being tested - ability to solve the case, how you go about it, how naturally you interact with the interviewer, how receptive you are to subtle in the moment coaching, whether they think you’d slot seamlessly into a team, … Sorry not to be able help more.
Remember that if you don’t get in (especially that many times) they’re probably doing you a favour. Either you’d hate the role / culture / colleagues, or you’d not be a good match for the job and fail performance-wise.
My advice is to put your best foot forward for this last time and then if still no joy then go and thrive elsewhere - you probably escaped lightly.
How did it go?
